BW Portrait Art

Come visit the studio this weekend.  I have the great opportunity to have my studio as one of the stops for the North Artists’ Studio Crawl (www.nascrawl.org).  I have my mixed media and photographic artwork on display as well as a sample of my artist enhanced portraits.  There will also be mixed media work by a good friend, Christopher Bowman, and oil paintings by my mom, Delia Whitcomb.

The crawl is on Saturday, April 10th and Sunday, April 11th from 10 am to 6 pm.  I hope to see you there.

A couple weeks ago, Steve and Jill brought their family in for portraits.  We created some relationship black and white images and then, after some individual poses of the girls in their spring dresses, we went for a walk in the park to create some natural environment portraits.

Last week, I entered prints into the PPA’s (Professional Photographers of America) regional print judging.  This image of 7 month old Lachlan, titled “Hmmm, Maybe I Should Use the Wide Angle,” was judged into the excellent category, received a Judge’s Choice award, and was accepted into the Minnesota Professional Photographers Loan Collection.  I was extremely excited, especially because this was my first time entering the competition and also because it was an image of my son that did so well.

On June 28th, I photographed the wedding ceremony and reception of Connie and Mark at their beautiful home on Lake Minnetonka.  It was a wonderful casual evening and a lot of fun.  Congratulations Connie and Mark!
